It was built using MinGW, plus a few additional patches for minor problems found in the original CVS code. FuTTY started out as a beta quality project, but for now it’s stable. It contains all the functionality of PuTTY except for the Win32 GUI. (Most of the work went into it was done by Wouter Swierstra, and some of it by other contributors like myself). What’s New in the?

FuTTY is a fork of PuTTY. Its main purpose is to try to make it easier to use while sticking to the original design where it needs to be. Please read the included FAQ to see more about the software. FuTTY is a portable application. If it looks like the PuTTY will not open, try right-clicking on the.msi file and select “Run as Administrator” to install the installer. The default location of the.msi file is the PuTTY directory in your PATH. FuTTY will allow you to save sessions to use at a later time as long as you’re on the same computer where the session was saved. This is useful to allow you to connect to the same remote host (either from a different computer or a different location on the same computer). FuTTY can reconnect to existing sessions (either from a different computer or from a different location on the same computer). This is useful if you lose the connection to the remote computer. FuTTY also allows to select a different font and/or color for the console. Q1: Well, it was released in December 2007, I guess that’s not a long time. Q2: How does it compare to PuTTY? Q3: Any known issues/bugs? Q4: I want to make a reference version, how do I do that? Finally, this is my first released product. I hope you like it, and if you do, leave feedback, it would be greatly appreciated 🙂 A: This looks cool! I’d have some suggestions: Q1: How did you decide on a 1.0 release? Q2: How about an executable with a lot of lines. Use a.zip or.msi for this. Q3: I would suggest that you bundle all of the.dlls (but not the.exe) in a zip for your users, as PuTTY will likely need them, so you won’t have to worry about future releases again. Q4: Is the license (GPL) per project or per user? Q5: If you do consider converting to another license, I have some code you could contribute. That is, if you wanted to call it a’reference’ version.
