Why did Adobe Photoshop have to first be named after the prominent Finnish graphic designer? The first Photoshop was called Mac-Draw. It was developed by Macromedia which was later acquired by Adobe. The reason the software was called Photoshop was because it was so powerful. Drawing on the screen was slow, so it had to be fast! What are the basic principles of Photoshop? They are knowledge and experience. It’s no good to know how to use Photoshop, if you have no experience. Photoshop is very intuitive, with menus and easy tools to make work. That’s why a beginner can handle it. And it’s the same with good experience. Is it easy to learn? Yes! The controls are laid out logically, making it easy to get to know the program. You can navigate by using the menu on your keyboard or trackpad. If you can use a computer mouse you’re probably old enough to use Photoshop. ## Quick fixes Many beginners have trouble in getting their images to work. After some work, you probably may have an image that looks like this: 1. **Click the Eyedropper tool and set it to Red.** 2. **Click the Brush tool and pick a blue area of the image.** 3. **With the Paint Bucket tool, click in that blue area, and move it to another area.** 4. **Click OK, and then click the Eraser tool.** 5. **With the Eraser tool, click a bit of the image and drag it away.** If you want to experiment with changing the color, you can just use the Eyedropper tool. Here’s an image ready for fixing: If you click with the Paint Bucket tool on a dark area of the image, Photoshop will make that area lighter. If you click on a light area, it will make the area darker. Simply select your brush size and click on the color you want to use. If you want the image to adjust completely, use the Auto Correct tool. It will fix images for you by automating the color changes. Here’s what it looks like: ## Editing basics Now let’s look at some of the basics of editing in Photoshop.

“Photoshop is the industry standard for anyone who’s creating or editing images. It’s the software I’ve been using ever since Photoshop 3 came out,” says graphic designer Matthew Rivard, who uses Photoshop Elements instead of Photoshop because, “I really like the user interface and workflow in Photoshop Elements, especially for web and print. I use both [the professional version and Elements] on a daily basis; for me it’s easier to use Elements.” The principles of designing, editing, and creating in Photoshop have not changed since the software was first released in 1987. Photoshop is still a powerful tool in the design world, whether it’s for photo manipulation or web design. “If you go to most basic photographers or graphic designers, they’re usually using Photoshop for either web design or photo editing, or both. So Adobe has done a really good job really making the workflow of photoshop easier and more simplified for people who are just starting out. For photographers, it makes it much simpler to create good-looking, high-quality, and edit your images,” explains graphic design studio Reymie Rock Design’s Amber Newell. Newell says it’s a good tool for people who have just gotten into graphic design, but she appreciates Elements for working on files and saving them to a web server so they’re available to see online. “So it’s a graphic editing software, but for me I really like using it for photo editing. I use it to clean up photos, where I can straighten the image a lot better. And I also use it for editing photos in order to create a better quality image, so I can [lose] some of the small details in the image. But I never really use it for complex editing,” she says. Liam O’Gorman, principal at Reymie Rock Design, agrees that for the more experienced graphic designer, Photoshop is “still one of the best tools for the graphic design industry.” He says that for the seasoned graphic designer Photoshop is still one of the best options for editing and design. Why Elements Is a Great Alternative Photoshop is so well-established in graphic design and photo editing that many of the concepts that make it famous are still visible in Elements. It’s a great tool, but Adobe has also simplified their a681f4349e

Q: Google Cloud SQL for an Amazon RDS instance – does it save time compared to a regular instance? I have a bunch of applications running in Amazon’s RDS instances. These all need a database. Currently, we’re using “SQLite on the Go” plugin for PHP so the app queries RDS to fill up its database. I’m thinking of buying Google Cloud SQL. What I’m interested in is if I really save time compared to using the regular RDS instance. We’re billing more for the RDS instance than we are for our applications, so it would be nice if the set up of the GCP instance saves us more time (and money) in the long term. I plan to experiment with both my own hosted instance and the GCP instance, so this setup isn’t really an option for now. A: Google Cloud SQL is integrated into Google Cloud Platform and does not require you to run it yourself. Instead, a Google Cloud SQL instance is created using your application’s project’s credentials, and your application uses the account to connect to Cloud SQL. You would be able to use Google Cloud SQL instances with Cloud SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite. See Google Cloud SQL documentation for more information. If you have your own Cloud SQL instance or self-host MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQLite, then you would be able to use them in conjunction with Cloud SQL (through the BigQuery or Data Studio APIs, for example). It does not save time to use Cloud SQL because you are effectively paying for both your application and Cloud SQL instances, whereas if you were to self-host those databases, you would be paying for just the instances. A: Cloud SQL is billed for a typical AWS instance; you pay the same for the data transfer as you would for a running instance. You can use the same data transfer pricing if you are using MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite. If you have your own MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQLite, you can use them instead. Some of these use different data transfer pricing than Cloud SQL; the Cloud SQL pricing is for data transfers between your app and Cloud SQL, not for data transfers between Cloud SQL and the app server. That said, there is nothing that says you can’t have more than one MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQLite database on your instance. You will have to read the pricing of each carefully

Q: How to update a record using REST API? I’m trying to update a record for a order having an orderid of 8556 from REST API. I’m using POSTMAN as the client. I have tried two ways to update the record, which I’m sharing the screenshots below: The first POST request was without any request header and just the request body, which is giving the following response: { “errors”: [ { “severity”: “error”, “source”: “Validation Failed” } ] } The second POST request was with a request header as follows, which is also giving the same response as above: Content-Type: application/json [ { “customerid”: 3, “orderid”: 8556, “total”: “200.00” } ] Can anyone tell me what’s the possible reason for above error, and how to fix this? A: The second option looks like a repeated request with a unique ID. You need to have an endpoint that accepts that repeated request, and replies to it with a single object. One way is to add a unique response code to each request; e.g. 1, 2, 3. You can then have an endpoint that accepts the second request and converts it into the first response. Alternatively, you can change your API design so that the Customer (or some other component) already returns an ID for the Customer object. You would then need to search for it in each Customer object. This is likely to be more scalable, but is obviously a lot more work. This application is directed to an improved gas separator and, in particular, to a gas separator that allows a person to separate and remove unwanted gas from a gas-containing fluid in a container. The unwanted gas may be, for example, natural gas, gasoline, cooking gas, or other unwanted gas. This application is also directed to a method of separating gas from a gas-containing fluid using a gas separator having a chamber, a dip tube, and a buoyant member, wherein the fluid in the chamber is maintained in at least two adjacent
