The online portions are some of the main things that stood out for me.
With regard to the graphics:
The varied moods and color palette of the world to the intricate details of the enemies and the diverse sound track keep you on your toes as you make your way through the vast world of the Lands Between. The combination of the visuals and the music is pretty spot on.
The gameplay is no different. It’s almost as if each of the aspects of the game is supercharged with power, especially since the moveset you get from level up to level up is so varied.
Fights in game have a lot of strategy to them, keeping you on your toes and out of your comfort zone. Combat feels very satisfying.
The levelling system also adds an element of strategy and challenge, making it fun to quest and battle with your allies in large encounters.
Another element that was great was the addition of Big-Ollie. These were rare encounters that you could come across if you got in a fight with a certain enemy, and you could then proceed to a boss fight, and beat them.
This was a great way to really challenge yourself and beat a boss.
Big-Ollie were fun, although sometimes you would run into them pretty easily because the odds are so stacked against you.
The thing that was awesome about Big-Ollie is that it was a huge gamble that was highly risky. A lot of Big-Ollies would fail or you wouldn’t be prepared, and the combat of the game isn’t actually that hard either.
Big-Ollie weren’t very likely to happen, but we got lucky because we found one.
The menus are colorful and stylish, and the loading times between areas were never too long.
At least not at first.
