peakfit offers a built-in editor for getting quick and dirty work done after you’ve made a study, or is there a special application for doing some nitty-gritty fitting? the editor has a nearly “google drawings”-like interface for quick marking and drawing, insert calls for gaussian parameter adjustments, gaussian overlay for normalizing curves, and even for coarse rotation. the editor also makes good use of the selection handles to select multiple parameters for edits, and to fine-tune sub-parameter edges. line smoothing could be added too!
you can download peakfit and go right to your work with the full set of peakfit reports and precision fit/placement/peak area tools. peakfit is excel-based for extra convenience, and convenient xls-files can be exported for good or quick sharing.
when you’re ready, you can save the fit equations in an equation template file. peekfit’s templates help you study the fit of multiple peaks at once, and show up to five peaks on a screen at once. peakfit also shows a symbol and example spectrum for each fit and peak system, so you can easily see what kind of data it can handle.
peakfit also includes tools for fitting to multiple spectra simultaneously. peakfit’s spectrum-mixing functions will fit any number of peaks/spectra at once, and it is easy to save all the fits as an image and save it to the clipboard.
peakfit’s programs run in the full versions of excel, and are available in excel 97/2000/xp. peakfit won’t run in the workgroup version. note that a very short excel tutorial was created by paul m. green, a microsoft excel mvp. if you’re new to peakfit, we highly recommend the tutorial.
