for many years, i have written book reviews for the undergraduate student as a means to enhance the understanding of the students on the textbooks that they are using in their coursework. i have tried to ensure that the reviews do not give the impression that i have used the book under review. in this brief, i am giving my impressions of my review of the book: industrial chemistry by b k sharma, j j jain.
at the moment of writing this review, i am about to publish my thirteenth short contribution to the series of books on green chemistry and sustainable chemistry. i have published four books in the field of green chemistry and sustainable chemistry and i have read all the books in the series. the book that i am reviewing is the eleventh in the series. this book is about industrial chemistry by b k sharma, j j jain.
i am a professor of chemistry at delhi university. i have been teaching in the department for the last 20 years. i have been fortunate enough to have been a faculty member since my graduation and have spent three decades doing research in the field of green chemistry and sustainable chemistry. in my experience, i have come across many a book on green chemistry and sustainable chemistry and i have found them to be useful and valuable. i know of course, that a book is only as good as the person who has written it and the skill with which the author has written the book. that said, i hope that this book is useful and the author can look forward to a successful career in the field of green chemistry and sustainable chemistry.
the author of this book has written a concise book on industrial chemistry. it is a rather comprehensive book which presents the reader with an excellent overview of the field and the author does a good job of bringing out the complex nature of the subject by setting it in historical context. some of the topics covered in the book include: synthesis and analysis of different industrial products, synthesis of industrial products using electrochemical methods, synthesis of industrial products using green chemistry, green technologies for the production of chemicals and pharmaceuticals and green chemistry for the production of biofuels and microalgae.
