First, it offers a full timeline, and second, it’s a very impressive application when it comes to editing and mixing video clips. At the end of the day, a lot of what iMovie is is the sum of its parts. Mainly, it’s easier to use video editing than some other programs that are out there. The interface allows you to work on multiple clips at once and will automatically make sense of clips that are imported from digicam or some other format. A lot of iMovie’s features have to do with software editing. In other words, you’re given familiar video editing tools such as the Cut Clips, Trim Clips, and fade to black, for example. Still, iMovie is also rich in automation features, such as Smart Trim, Slide Zoom, Hot Shot, Bounce Cut, Retime, and more. I’m actually pretty impressed, and hopefully, Wolfram moves a bit faster in the areas that I’m most interested in. Overall, iMovie is a nice addition to the Mac OS family and allows the Mac to regain its credibility as the graphics oriented OS that it is.
